I am a half time Kindergarten teacher after substituting for two years. These next years will be full of new adventures, new waters, new challenges. I will continue to substitute as possible. My blog site is still correct as I will be teaching AND substituting. It is still my first few years. Now I will have perspective from both sides of the table - as a substitute and teacher.

It Pays to Check In - Finding Sub Jobs BEFORE School Starts
Just for grins, I checked in my subbing account a week before school start in Shoreline. To my surprise, a very organized teacher submitted a sub job for a few weeks in after school begins! I couldn't take the job 'cause the day didn't work for me; however, another job cropped up the next day. I guess it just proves the very early bird does get the worm.

I started making the rounds of schools that open next week to drop off my card for the secretary. I only went to schools that I subbed at but at the first one, they scheduled me for five days this month. Hoozah! Timing is everything.
ReplyDeleteThey may be rejecting my resume right and left, but I seem to be picking up the slack via subbing. Silver linings...
